QUEPOS
Puerto Quepos, Costa Rica overlooks a tropical inlet and provides the waterfront stage for Marina Pez Vela. Located within this small village are restaurants, bars, hotels, casinos, bakeries and art galleries that beckon sailors, travelers, and those seeking a truly unique retreat. Primary rainforests envelop the town in a blanket of vibrant flora and fauna during the green season December through April.
A short walk or boat ride reveals the most pristine, unspoiled exhibitions of nature—while never too far from modern conveniences. Horseback riding, whitewater rafting, canopy tours, sailing, sunset cruises, charter fishing, surfing and snorkeling are just a sampling of the many adventures that await Quepos visitors. The townsfolk, known as Queperios, are great celebrators of life’s many occasions and none is more popular than the Festival del Mar. Held in February, Festival del Mar features a myriad of concerts, sporting events, parades, street carnivals, dancing and more. Families, fishing enthusiasts, ecotourists and others flock to the area each year for this month-long celebration.
